Communicating Responsible Investment

The UK Stewardship Code sets high standards for investors managing money on behalf of UK savers and pensioners. Stewardship involves the responsible management of capital to create long-term value for clients and beneficiaries, delivering sustainable benefits for the economy, environment, and society.

Epworth Investment, an ethical investment manager, commissioned me to design a printed report outlining their response to the Code for the previous reporting year.

Structuring the Report with a Clear Visual System

The report needed to follow the numbered commitments of the Stewardship Code while remaining engaging and easy to navigate. To achieve this, I utilised Epworth’s newly defined brand identity—incorporating a bold colour scheme, a signature triangle motif, and clear infographics—to structure the content in a visually clear and colour-coded format. These infographics helped break down complex data, making key points more digestible for readers.

Balancing Professionalism and Brand Identity

Beyond meeting reporting requirements, the document also served as a key marketing asset. As an ethical investor, Epworth Investment’s alignment with the Stewardship Code is an important selling point. The final design successfully positioned the report as both a regulatory response and a branded showcase of their commitment to responsible investment.
